On 29th January, Wednesday, during late hours, a fire eruption was reported on board a Panama-flagged oil tanker due to maintenance operations, according to preliminary investigations.
The oil tanker was reported to be 21 miles (approx. 34km) off coast Port of Sharjah, UAE.
Currently, investigations are said to be running, searching for details of the incident. For the moment, no casualties have been reported and the crew is said to be rescued.
Federal Transport Authority – Land & Maritime (FTA) stated that the UAE authorities are working to put out a fire that broke out aboard an oil tanker 21 miles off the cost of Sharjah after receiving a distress message. A proper investigation is in progress. pic.twitter.com/HE5pEDrUyj
