Coast Guard received a distress call around 6:00 a.m. that informed that a Sierra Leone-registered cargo vessel, Fu Lin 88, had run aground from a fishing port in Yunlin County, approximately 13 nautical miles offshore.

The Coast Guard has reportedly said that the vessel started tilting after water seeped into the engine room.
