Passenger Vessel Ran Aground In Bohol; Crew Members Safe

A passenger vessel reportedly ran aground at the Jagna Port in Bohol when reckless winds and strong waves dragged it on Friday night, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) – Central Visayas informed.

A PCG-7 spokesperson named Ensign Jordz Emata mentioned that no injuries had been reported among the 23 members of the crew of MV Lite Ferry 1.

He said the vessel was manoeuvring close to the port to anchor when strong and reckless waves slowly dragged it at about 11:48 p.m.

Emata said the Coast Guard Station – Eastern Bohol was carefully monitoring the vessel that slightly tilted toward the side.

No oil spill had been reported as the vessel was expected to be extracted with some improvement in the weather.

Bohol was reportedly placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 1 as Severe Tropical Storm Paeng whipped parts of Visayas, Luzon, and Mindanao.
