CSCL Indian Ocean, one of the world´s largest containerships grounded since last week on the River Elbe, was re-floated in the early hours of Tuesday. The re-floating operation, led by Smit Salvage and local authorities, involved 12 tugs boats.
Background:
CSCL Indian Ocean ran aground after suffering a rudder breakdown while approaching Hamburg on 3rd February, night.
The vessel was pulled free by tugs early on Tuesday morning after fuel had been pumped out to make the ship lighter.
