KA Adith, a 22-year-old Merchant navy officer, was reported missing on 14 April when his ship had been navigating the sea off Pakistan. KV Sunilkumar, Adith’s father mentioned that the last voice record from his son to the family was received on 9 April when he boarded MT Alimas to Oman from the Maldives.
Per the news the family received from the shipping major, Sunilkumar’s son had gone back to his cabin on 14 April at night, and he was declared as missing the next morning.
His father has approached the state’s chief minister and Norka, the Union home ministry, and the external affairs ministry asking for their assistance in getting further details regarding his son; he has not yet received positive feedback.
P Sreeramakrishnan, Norka’s vice-chairman visited the family on Thursday. He has said that KA Adith’s missing was mysterious and a serious matter. He added that efforts to find the 22-year-old Merchant navy officer have not given any result so far. He added that Indian missions in Pakistan, Maldives, and Oman have been alerted regarding the missing case. Indian Embassy officials in Pakistan have also reported that they are taking possible measures to locate Sunilkumar’s son. They said search operations are being carried out in the sea off Pakistan.
Sunilkumar informed that it was Adith’s maiden voyage. He added that right after he had boarded the ship, he sent a voice record, mentioning that the vessel was good, and he’d also message the next day. But none came afterward.
