The Anadolu is the world’s first drone carrier and the largest assault ship in Turkey. It began construction in 2014 and was scheduled to be tested on July 1, 2020.

It is outfitted with cutting-edge radars and sensors, allowing it to transport 100 vehicles, including tanks, armoured vehicles, and boats, with a total capacity of 27,436 tonnes. Unmanned aerial vehicles such as the Kzlelma, Hürjet, and Bayraktar TB3 can also land on its platform.

Last month, Erdogan attended the official induction of the TCG Anadolu into Turkey’s Navy, together with Defence Minister Hulusi Akar and other dignitaries.
