The successful completion of this vessel, which broke the earlier record and became the world’s biggest container ship by capacity, would firmly consolidate the position of Chinese Ship construction companies in building ultra-large container ships.
It was designed solely by Hudong-Zhonghua and has interesting features. It is considered eco-friendly, with high efficiency and low energy consumption. It also boasts excellent safety features.
The other three ships ordered by MSC are still being built at Hudong-Zhonghua’s shipyards and will be delivered by August.
