1.5 Tonnes Of Cocaine Confiscated From Ship

Guinea has seized over 1.5 tons of cocaine from a Sierra Leone-flagged vessel docked at the port of Kamsar, according to broadcasting by Guinean television.

The country’s Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that 60 bags of cocaine, each containing 25 kg, had been uncovered. Additionally, all ten members of the crew have been taken into custody.

It has become common for drug traffickers to utilize West African countries as a transit route to transport cocaine from South America to Europe. In August 2019, authorities captured three tons of cocaine from a stranded ship in Guinean waters.
