Asia’s Largest Offshore Oil Platform Commences Production

Enping 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4 oilfields are in the Eastern South China Sea with average water depth of approximately 90 meters.

The primary production facilities of the project involve two drilling production platforms and an unmanned well-head platform.

About 48 production wells are planned to be commissioned. The project is expected to achieve peak production of about 35,500 barrels of crude oil daily in 2024.

Enping 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4 oilfields joint development project deploys the first-ever newly developed unmanned platform in the Eastern South China Sea, which has been equipped with the function of remote production under typhoon mode.

Simultaneously, the project has planned one carbon dioxide gas injection well meant for the reinjection and storing of carbon dioxide generated by the oilfields. It’s the first-ever offshore carbon capture and storage (CCS) demonstration project based in China.

Zhou Xinhuai, the CEO of the Company, said that the commissioning of the Enping 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4 oilfields joint development project highlights a breakthrough in the construction of less-manned, unmanned, and intelligentized offshore oilfields based in China. And it’s an essential achievement of low-carbon and green transition of the offshore oilfields.

CNOOC Limited reportedly holds 100% interest in Enping 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4 oilfields joint development assignment and acts as the operator.
