Celebrity Cruises is the recent entry to Forbes Travel Guide Stars, a coveted list of 20 land-based properties with more than 1000 rooms. The cruise line, which offers a fleet of resorts at sea, is the only one from the cruising industry to make it to the list.
Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards, or the FTG, is a worldwide rating system for luxury restaurants, hotels, spas and new ocean cruises. A group of professional inspectors is entrusted with evaluating these properties and giving them annual star ratings based on hundreds of standards.
The FTG inspectors have evaluated and star-rated 5 resorts at sea by Celebrity Cruises, including Celebrity Summit, Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Flora, Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex. The rest of the 10 ships of the 15-ship fleet of Celebrity Cruises are yet to be evaluated. Out of these two are small Galapagos ships which would be excluded from the evaluation.
Celebrity Cruises highlighted their commitment to innovation in ship designing coupled with the relaxed luxury experiences which make them trustworthy and helped them achieve this feat of getting star rated repeatedly.
FTG CEO Hermann Elger underlined how Celebrity Cruises stood out in their standards and provided impeccable guest experiences, which the land-based properties on the FTG list can only rival.
The 5-star rated ships represent the three distinct classes of Celebrity Cruises, the architectural masterpieces of the avant-garde Edge series having features like a cantilevered floating bar, outward facing deck, two-storey rooms with plunge pools etc., the intimate Millennium Series with the most modern ships and the exclusive 100 passengers Meg Yacht known for expedition experiences.
