Cruise Industry To Become More Luxurious As Four Seasons Ready To Unveil A 95-Suite Cruise Ship

The cruise industry is geared to become even more luxurious: Renowned hospitality firm, Four Seasons, has introduced the new cruise arm, appropriately named the Four Seasons Yachts.

Despite ongoing fears of a forthcoming recession, the luxury cruise market has been off the charts for a while while the pricing for the 2023 cruises has gone up, the UBS analysts mentioned in an 11 October report.

But eager, enthusiastic, and high-paying travellers will have to wait more years before vacationing at sea on the new, floating Four Seasons hotel. Its yacht-like cruise vessel is unlikely to set sail until the end of 2025 with itineraries in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean.

And till then, the cruise liner of the future will be in Italy and under construction with the famous shipbuilding giant Fincantieri.

The Italian shipbuilder is as experienced as they come. The firm built vessels for reputed cruise lines like MSC, Carnival, Norwegian, and Disney earlier. It can soon boast multiple Four Seasons cruise vessels: The luxury hospitality firm’s order spans the option for two more ships that could amount to $1.17 billion.

Four Seasons has started rapidly expanding its portfolio to cover beyond conventional hotels. It aims to include exclusive travel offerings such as private jet itineraries and is currently a cruise brand. However, it’s not the first renowned hotel firm to venture into a concept based on the ocean.

The hotel-to-cruise pipeline appears to be promising. In 2017, the equally luxurious brand Ritz-Carlton declared the one-of-its-kind “Yacht Collection” and the first cruise vessel, the Evirma, even though the vessel has since been delayed many times amid the ongoing COVID-19 and budget issues reports.

And while not as plentiful, hospitality major Margaritaville — known for Jimmy Buffett-branded hotels, restaurants, and RV parks — has also debuted Margaritaville at-sea cruise line.

Four Seasons has not yet released the details regarding the onboard amenities. However, we know the cruise vessel will have 11 restaurants and bars, including a marina with water toys, a sushi bar, and a Four Seasons-approved spa. But the luxury Four Seasons intends to offer will never be cheap: Each suite is expected to cost about $4.2 million to build.

Most suites will stand at 818 square feet, but this still pales compared to the most considerable 9,600-square-foot, four-level accommodation with a private pool and spa.
