The Colombian Navy has reportedly intercepted a drug-smuggling submarine off the Pacific coast of Colombia with two bodies and almost 2,643 kgs of cocaine on the ship.
Per a statement, the cocaine is valued at over $87 million. The shipment destination was Central America.
The military reportedly entered the boat and found two people in severe health conditions and two bodies.
They were then transported to another vessel to get much-needed medical attention.
The rescued and deceased individuals were taken to Tumaco, the department of Nariño, in the southwest of the nation.
Authorities reportedly said an accident within the semi-submersible vessel produced toxic gases from the fuel.
