The CBI has started an investigation into billing fraud at India’s Mundra Port’s Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).
An FIR was filed with the CBI’s Gandhinagar bureau, which revealed that Navimumbai-based firm had been hired by CWC to manage and transfer containers, as well as run and maintain the Container Freight Station (CFS).
However, corrupt managers at the CFS were billing the company instead of the CWC, resulting in a loss of Rs 28.69 crore from January 2020 to July 2022.
The FIR named officers for breaches of trust and criminal conspiracy under various IPC sections and Prevention of Corruption Act charges.
