Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) declared on Sunday that the crew of the two seized Greece-based tankers are secure and will be permitted to get in touch with their families, the IRNA reported.
The statement was made after a meeting took place between Iranian authorities and the taker captains.
In the meeting, the captains confirmed the stable health condition of the crew members. The crew will be able to meet with relevant embassies in Tehran after they have coordinated with the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
It was decided in the meeting that the crew members would have access to mobile phones and SIM cards to contact their families.
Water, food, and other necessities will be provided. There will be coordination and further communication for garbage disposal off the vessels.
The statement also added that Iran’s military forces have appropriately acted and no complaints were filed by the crew regarding this.
