Danish logistic giant ‘Maersk’ declared a complete termination of its operations in Russia. It will also sell its Russian assets, the company informed via a letter to clients. About three weeks ago, Maersk had temporarily restricted its activities in Russia. The firm will also move out its containers by the end of April.
For clients, whose cargoes are delivering at the moment, the company said that they will do their best to carry out their obligations and deliver those cargoes.
On 1 March, as a reminder, Maersk declared that it had suspended association with Russian ports for delivering non-essential cargoes.
Maersk owns 31% of Russia’s Global Ports, a port operator that operates two terminals in Finland and six in Russia.
Other major shipping companies, including Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), MSC, CMA CGM, Ocean Network Express (ONE), and Hapag-Lloyd are also leaving Russia.
