MSC Continues To Expand Its Specialized Air Cargo Team

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is now continuing to expand the air cargo business by assigning a head of compliance, cargo operations, and governance of air cargo.

MSC hired Anders Matikka in the post soon after Jannie Davel was declared the senior vice president of air cargo, responsible for developing the freshly introduced MSC Air Cargo airline.

Switzerland-headquartered shipping major MSC confirmed last month that Atlas Air would operate four 777-200 freighters of Boeing on a global aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) basis for MSC’s Air Cargo.

Atlas’ order of the four aircraft was reportedly declared in January 2022. The first B777F is expected to be delivered to MSC Air Cargo in the fourth quarter of 2022.

MSC is not the only shipping firm that has widened its supply chain offerings in recent days.

Maersk Line reportedly launched the air cargo business in April. The CMA CGM Air Cargo launched its operations in 2021 (March).
