One Dead In Cargo Vessel Fire Off Lamma Island

 This morning, a cargo vessel was seen ablaze offshore close to the Lamma Power Station. 

It has been understood that a 51-year-old mainland crew member has lost his life.

Firefighters got the reports of a fire at around 8.46 am on 30 January, deploying the fire boats to fight against the blaze.

The Government Flying Service responded to help with the rescue.

Sources mentioned that 12 crew members, including one woman and 11 men, were reportedly rescued from the vessel.
