In association with the government of Finland, Royal Caribbean Group reportedly made a deal on Wednesday with the Meyer Turku shipyard that commits to a plan to produce climate-neutral vessels in Finland.
The cruise major and Finland desire to establish a clear roadmap for a green transition as a path forward for sustainable shipbuilding in the country.
The declaration was duly signed by the government of Finland, represented by Meyer Turku Oy and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment (MEAE).


This is a brilliant step by the Royal Caribbean Group to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. Famous as the Destination Net Zero strategy, the firm plans to decarbonise its operations by 2050.
It aims to lower carbon intensity by 2025 and by double digits compared to 2019 and launch a net-zero cruise ship by 2035.
