XGIT-PROP is an eco-friendly product that helps bring down marine growth and enhances propulsion efficiency and making sure no harmful biocides or toxins and biocides get released into the oceans.

Graphite Innovations & Technologies XGIT-PROP, a 2–3 coat graphene-based propeller coating, has been designed to help release the growth of fouling on vessel propellers and lower propeller the frequency of polishing or cleaning.

This extensive application helps support Stolt Tankers’ decarbonization ambitions and reinforces its commitment to sustainability.

Stolt Tankers has reported that it is happy to be the first chemical tankers major to successfully apply GIT’s XGIT-PROP to the fleet and bring the capabilities associated with graphene coatings to applications in the maritime industry.

In April last year, Stolt Tankers was able to carry out a trial of this GIT graphene propeller coating on the Stolt Acer. The firm observed a significant lowering in fuel consumption and applied the coating to five more vessels.

It is also expected that the coating will lower the biofouling impact as well as noise emissions, which can harm marine wildlife, from the firm’s vessels, helping significantly lower the impact on life below the water while enhancing fuel efficiency.

The graphene-based coating helps maintain the propulsive efficiency of the propeller and lowers damages owing to cavitations, lowering noise emissions.

The GIT co-founder and CEO Mo AlGermozi stated that he is unable to say enough regarding the Stolt Tankers team and their desire to achieve ambitious sustainability goals.

The company’s XGIT-PROP helps convert desire into actions. They could measure a massive improvement in fuel efficiency while making sure they help maintain healthy oceans.

GIT is delighted to collaborate with Stolt Tankers in their mission to support their green shipping activities in oceans.
