The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) clarified on Tuesday that the sunken tanker dubbed the Princess Empress was loaded with 900,000 litres of industrial fuel oil instead of 800,000 as was earlier informed.
Despite this, the MT Princess Empress was not overloaded when it submerged in late February and resulted in an oil spill.
(On the basis of the assessment of weight and capacity, the vessel wasn’t overloaded.) Per sources, they had been still waiting for the outcome of the examination if the sinking of Princess Empress was brought about by negligence or an incident of force majeure.
