Indonesia’s navy has seized two tankers loaded with methanol, palm olein, and crude palm oil for what it had said were paperwork and permit violations, in an operation that was conducted one day prior to a palm oil export ban, it mentioned on Thursday.
MT World Progress has ended up violating vessel specifications in the travel document. On the other hand, MT Annabelle, another ship was loaded with methanol without a permit, the navy mentioned. It has been deployed for enforcing the export ban, which had taken effect on Wednesday at midnight.
MT World Progress was en route from Dumai situated on Sumatra Island toward India loaded with palm olein worth 34,854.3 tonnes. MT Annabelle got seized off the Borneo Island as it was heading for Shajrah in the UAE, the statement mentioned.
