The body of China’s ultra-deepwater oil research-drilling vessel has finally taken shape in South China’s Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, per China Science Daily’s report on Monday.
The research-drilling vessel boasts 42,000 tons of water displacement capacity for about 10,000 meters of deep-sea drilling. China independently built it.

The newspaper mentioned that the vessel is capable of oil and gas drilling and ocean science drilling.
The construction of the drilling vessel started in 2021 (November). By 2024, it is expected to be completed.
